Dinosaur Jr. at Ogden Theater
Alt Rockers Dinosaur Jr. brought their live show and wall of Marshall amps to the Ogden Theater in support of their latest album There Near. They tore through a 17-song setlist of fan favorites and tracks from the new album. You should always wear ear protection to a Dinosaur Jr. show.

Lou Barlow on Bass Guitar

From the moment I entered the Ogden Theater it felt like one of the club scenes from the movie Singles. Gen X vibes everywhere.

During Stef Chura's opening set there was a 10-speed bike parked behind the wall of Marshall amps. Did Jay ride his bike to the venue?
There were trucker caps everywhere, plenty of long hair, choice-classic concert tees and just a few Halloween costumes represented.
One guy who I thought was dressed as the Hamburglar turned out to be dressed as just a basic burglar who didn't need any hamburgers. There was a group of three guys in very sad pirate costumes. Each pirate was less inspired than the last.
Despite overhearing several conversations about stints in rehab, an ever-present cloud of marijuana smoke hung over most of the show. Perhaps the rehabbers were California sober.

As I left the venue a heavy set, wasted, female concertgoer was taking swings at cops while they tried to restrain her. I don't think her night went as planned.
